Picking things up
Meeting the seller, doorstep handovers, and the pickup code.
Where you go
A sale page shows the town right away. The exact street address appears once you have bought something there, or earlier if the seller chose to show it to everybody.
Some sellers do not publish their address at all. Those sales still appear in the feed and in search; they just have no pin on the map.
The pickup code
When you buy something you get a four digit code. You read it out at the door and the seller enters it. That is what tells us the handover happened and releases the money to them.
If you gave us a phone number and agreed to texts, the code is texted to you as well as emailed, because a phone is what you have in your hand in a driveway.
Left on the doorstep
Some sellers offer to leave small things out for you instead of meeting. Only items priced at $50 or less can be left this way.
If somebody else takes it before you get there, you are refunded in full. That risk is the reason for the price limit.
Food is never left out. Michigan does not permit unattended pickup of cottage food, so a jar of jam is always handed over in person even on a sale where everything else can go on the porch.
